Cornmeal griddle cakes

We actually love these easy to make hotcakes, and they are very nutritious and homemade, so no preseratives.

1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 egg, well beaten
2 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons fat melted

3 TB molasses


1Mix and sift dry ingredients.
2Combine beaten egg and milk.
3Add to dry ingredients.
4Stir in shortening.
5Pour on a hot griddle.
