I have read some really gross recipes. But, I understand the frugality of the situation of the 1940's and not waisting. Here are a few I found especially gross.
1. Turtle a' la king
2. Breaded tongue
3. Pigs feet a' la russe (pigs feet with tomatoes)
4. Kidneys a' la creole
5. Calves' brains OR marinated brains
6. Roast pigeon
7. Squirrel pot pie
8. Possum
9. Roast grouse
10. Baked snails
11. Whole roast suckling pig
